POEM reactivates — A moderate effort to get things going again

Soon I meet with Sarah Koski, Director of DIVA to see what is possible.

After recent visit to Milan, Italy, I am convinced a City of Eugene Museum is possible, beginning by leasing space in the old downtown post office and installing a permanent collection of regional artists’ works there, Italian style. Meaning staffing by senior volunteers, open limited number of hours. The main idea: to begin. Longtime and established regional artists can be asked to donate works that represent them well…we should have a curator from the community or from the artists themselves. An inventory database. Hours open. Down the road a gift shop. Main task at hand: to cover City of Eugene Art Museum rent at post office. Perhaps a local fund raiser via Hatchfund etc.
